Gamecube controller support with Rivals on Linux
(assuming you are talking about rivals of aether), i have played for some time using the https://github.com/ToadKing/wii-u-gc-adapter driver which is the only one that seemed to work with the mayflash adapter on wii-u mode. Its not a very good experience compared to windows since the game does not recognize the game as a gamecube controller but it sees it as an xbox pad, so the stick sensitivity feels off

Can't dash dance with my new controller
Ok, thx it works now. I just had to switch to wii u mode on the adapter. it was super dumb, and it worked out of the box on linux : for linux users : just git clone https://github.com/ToadKing/wii-u-gc-adapter and it will work. You can also overclock the adapter under linux by git cloning https://github.com/HannesMann/gcadapter-oc-kmod and do what the readme says

MemCard Pro and GBA adapter
Yes. Here is a video demonstration of using the disc to access Swiss. You need this version of the Action Replay disc (ensuring it says US console if your console is a US model, or it says European console for PAL models). You then need an SD card adapter like this to store the Swiss files. You can also store Game Boy Interface files to load it from Swiss. Here is a visual comparison of Game Boy Interface. I can tell you it looks so much better on a modern TV.

Picoboot mod and soft reset
Thanks for the reply! I'd never have thought to try that. Though, now instead of rebooting to the build-in IPL it just hard locks with a black screen instead. Much like this thread, so I guess I'm not alone as this seems to have been going on for a long time: https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/issues/364

Swiss loaded ISO’s can’t save, corrupted memory
In most cases, yes. As hanst3r said if the game requires streaming audio emulation (select the game in Swiss and it will tell you whether it uses this or not) then you can't also use virtual memory cards. This also applies if you enable read speed emulation, which as far as I know is only required with Tales of Symphonia.

GameCube Gameboy player
You don't need the OEM disc for anything. You just need some way to boot homebrew. Some options are an Action Replay and an SD Card adapter, a memory card with an exploited save game and the game that goes with it, or using a modded GameCube with Picoboot, GCLoader, or XenoGC. You boot into Swiss and then select options for and boot into GBI.
