Tool for using the Wii U GameCube Adapter on Linux

  • Hey guys, I'm really new to Linux (installed Fedora today) and I just tried to play Rivals of Aether with my friends. I plugged in my gamecube adapter and it didn't work, I have the Mayflash one btw. I thought it was an adapter issue but my PS4 worked just fine. Reddit seems to always have an answer and I need someone to explain this like I'm five. I did a little research and I need to use ToadKing's wii-u-gc-adapter program (here) but I straight up don't get it and I'm concerned it wouldn't work for Steam because it was made for Dolphin. I doubt someone has the same problem as me, but I don't know, also I was thinking about just loading Windows into GNOME's Boxes but it seems way out of my skill range.
