Nice! I built a 'printer' based on the ESP8266, following this project. I didn't tested it's compatibility with anything else other than the Camera tho. It works fine to get photos out of the Camera and directly to a phone, since file transfers are done by a wifi network created by the ESP8266.
It was in a box with some other games for 20$

I didn't took so many photos with it, but got like 2 cool pictures of my cats. I'm finishing this project so I can export the photos, it's easy and cheap to do it. I'm planning to build a 'power bank' with rechargeable lipos that have both a 3V output to power my GBC and this module so I can export camera photos on the go. Still waiting for a few stuff to arrive so I can finish this project.
Has anyone tried whether the Retrode2 can export Gameboy Camera save files?

Not really the answer to your question and I'm not sure if you want to export the photos or just the savefile, but I'm using this (https://github.com/HerrZatacke/wifi-gbp-emulator) to export my photos.
Any love for the GB Camera out there? Moon didn't fit in a single frame so I had to stitch a few shots together

I found this project that allows you to get the photos using a phone or pc via wifi. Seems to be easy enough.

He actually developed a flashcart for the gb camera not too long ago.
Doing an HDR Gameboy Camera mod for my own personal use and having trouble with the lens. Swapped out the cable connector and sussed out its not the sensor board having issues. Anything standing out?

You're probably right, a deeper cleaning it is then. If all else fails, maybe I'll try to swap the components over to the GB Camera flash cart!
Just wanted to share, after lots of searching, haggling, and translating (of all things)... I finished a couple collections today. They aren't perfect, but they are mine.

I'm the person that created these, you really don't want HASL finish, these won't work after a few insertions (not to mention that your console may have trouble reading games with repeat use of hasl finished carts), also please make sure you're aware of the Non Commercial License
