Week 6 - Parts 10 & 11: Save/load and leveling up
Two, I'd like to dive into TypeScript. I don't think I'll go back to convert everything, but I would probably use TS for new bits, or if I tackle the tutorial again. Related, /u/codyebberson's WGLT looks like a nice alternative to rot.js, so eventually I'll explore that.

Doing a ROT.js version of the libtcod tutorial. Part 0 up now.
Nice! If you enjoy Rot, checkout https://github.com/codyebberson/wglt, its based off libcod and rot

Update: WGLT is blazing fast for drawing ASCII in the browser!
I can now confirm that WGLT (WebGLTerminal) is extremely fast. Thanks to /u/JamesGecko for the recommend.

Sharing Saturday #369
This week I've been migrating my game's graphics from simple HTML manipulation, which was slow, to manually drawing on the HTML5 Canvas, which also turned out to be slow. And then testing out web rendering libraries such as PixiJS and WGLT (WebGL Terminal). Some such simple WebGL library feels like the way to go. I've still to try out Fastiles (by Ondras, the Rot.js author) and the older UnicodeTiles.js.

PixiJS text rendering is slow: Text vs. sprite graphics on the web
Also check out WGLT, a performance-focused WebGL roguelike toolkit. Not sure how battle tested it is, though.

Tiles as entities for common states and effects? (ECS related)
My Rust tutorial may be able to help there, it's pretty how built around how I like to use an ECS: http://bfnightly.bracketproductions.com/rustbook/ - also my 7DRL is an ECS without systems, and will have a tutorial coming out very soon: https://github.com/thebracket/secbot-2021-7drl
