how much js is enough to get a starting Frontend job
Basics: 1. JS language basics 2. DOM manipulation and the fact that batching is important. 3. New syntax and moderately advanced JS - you can ignore the class and OOP for now. 4. A UI library or framework - ignore this if they don't use one. If they do- you'll need to know one - React, Vue, Angular, etc. It's OK if you don't know the exact one used by the company (for example - you know React but the company uses Vue) but make sure to tell them you can learn fast.

Show HN: A JavaScript library for data visualization in both SVG and Canvas
> DOM-like event bubbling
This does sound very interesting. I started playing with https://two.js.org/ for a browser game but the event system proved a challange. The typescript focus also looks promising. Will give it a try.

Trying to build a front end interactive browser or app experience where touch to screen simulates a visual heat map.
Javascript touch events paired with WebGL would be the route I’d go. There are some really great libraries for WebGL (twojs) or working with SVG (mojs) if you want to keep it simple
