wallset VS scripts

well, https://github.com/terroo/wallset no commits for over 2 years, lots of "open" issues..

After a quick Google search the first three options seem to be covered reasonably well by wallset.

I stumbled upon Komorebi, but it only works on DEs, and i use a WM (Awesomewm), also i found this one: wallset but it literally doesnt work in any of the commands, either with an image or a video, and the developer isn't giving a f*ck to any of the issues.

I neither type vim nor nvim. I open files with a plumbing-script which is aliased to f. If I want to open a file I type f filename and the script opens the file with the correct program. pdf-files with a pdf-reader, videos with a video-player and text-files with $EDITOR. Also f without a file opens fzf. I wrote my own little script to do that but there is also handlr.
