What's the best way to go about installing the *beta* drivers for Nvidia?
Hey all, I'll keep it short and sweet. I've got an RTX 3060 TI and I'm currently running Driver 530. There's a gamebreaking interaction with 530, VKD3D, and the kernel that prevents Resident Evil: Village from running for more than five minutes. 535 seems to completely solve this issue as referenced in this post Specifically, I'm currently on 530 DKMS. What's the preferred, safe way to acquire a kernel compatible, preferably pacman friendly version of the 535 driver? Thanks in advance

Vulkan 1.3.251 spec update
stuff like this exists not really to be used by native vulkan things, but rather for the sake of intermediate layers like, in this case, vkd3d|vkd3d-proton

Lutris error when install games
I solved. I install all libraries manually. https://github.com/jp7677/dxvk-nvapi/releases/tag/v0.6 https://github.com/lutris/d3d_extras/releases/tag/v2 https://github.com/HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton/releases/tag/v2.9 https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v2.2

3) In lutris add a new locally installed game, I use wine-ge-proton 8.2 as the runner along with DXVK 2.0, and VK3D 2.8 enabled (I'd probply reccomend using the latest version of all of these however)

EA games that weren't purchased through Steam?
EA App, EA's new launcher, isn't great but it does run for me. Steam, Lutris, Bottles, and Heroic all use variants of Wine - a windows compatibility layer - with projects such as dxvk and vkd3d-proton to run windows games and programs. Steam will use native ports by default if they are available, but you can override that in the game's properties if you want to.

DXVK version 2.2 released
A vkd3d-proton build as of HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton@26c4fed or later is required for this to work.

DirectX 12 Support on macOS
It's Wine with some special sauce (Apple couldn't reuse VKD3D because they chose to invent Metal rather than stick with OpenGL/Vulkan so they had to build their graphics translation themselves). Crossover is built on the same technology. In fact, Apple's brew script literally links to Crossover's sources: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/apple/homebrew-apple/main/...
Things like the crypto API should be implemented if you can find the reference for your specific API calls here: https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/tree/master/dlls/crypt32
Apple's version of Wine is aimed at developers, though. It shouldn't take too long for someone to make an app or script to easily set up environments with the developer runtime, but I doubt they'll support it as well as Valve supports Proton. If your application of choice doesn't need any fancy graphics, there's a decent chance Wine/Crossover can already run it anyway, no need to mess with Apple's SDK.
With the M2 Max outputting 28fps at 1080p (screenshot linked), I wouldn't expect too much from the gaming performance of this thing, though.

Proton GE vs Proton
heres a small different of wine versions, Proton : https://github.com/ValveSoftware/wine/blob/f0b3d09ad69ddfc27dbd850bd6b365da6683fa08/VERSION (Wine 6.3), and Proton GEs wine version: https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/blob/2f5f8b4bd4cb5771223d1ee96a55002d18ad01eb/VERSION (Wine 7.0RC2), and the DXVK have a month difference on commits, which does suggest Proton GE is more newer compared to normal proton, Though you might be right on proton Experimental, Though I havent checked.

Everyone should chill about what SteamOS can run, today, when the deck comes out, because eventually it’ll be perfect
Proton is open source.. Wine is open source.. DXVK is open source. These projects improve day over day because of the contributions of enthusiasts who wouldn't be there if they weren't open source.
