POS for a small restaurant
Created a long time ago by a really cool Redditor: https://www.viewtouch.com/

W. Richard (Rich) Stevens
I am a software development manager. I have purchased and awarded every software developer whom I didn't fire after a week or two with a complete set of the books authored and typeset by W. Richard Stevens. My code, GPL'd nearly ten years ago, represents my life's work and is replete with the code found in Rich Stevens' books. I am very proud that I was able to help the programmers I hired to be better programmers and to help them write better code because they were able to rely upon what Rich Stevens was able to pass on to them.

Local BBQ chain. Simple menu display.
And why are they not running [Point of Sale on Raspberry Pi](https://www.viewtouch.com) ?

Pi400 running dual 15.6' touchscreen in car entertainment system.
Chipsee makes an [all in one 15.6 display](http://www.viewtouch.com/) which will do this much more easily, much more attractively and at less cost than this.

/u/EugeneMosher describes creating Point of Sale system and improvements made over the years
Per his website it would appear he did, as "ViewTouch provides 24/7 phone support and training, updates and backup." So, you know, good, but why not just mention "Yeah I'm doing this through my company that does in fact provide support" rather than "I've been doing this for 35 years"? What am I meant to take from that other than "My software doesn't go down" which sends the message that he's not planning for failure. The worst part of this, then, is that that's not actually the case and this was an opportunity for him to advertise his business rather than just dribbling his highly-experienced balls in the guy's mouth.

I created this point of sale system for restaurants and hospitality. The All-In-One has a 15.6" touchscreen running a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4L and is made by Chipsee in Bejing, China. I'm helping a friend install it in a restaurant on the St. Lawrence River where he is the Executive Chef.
I didn't realize the code was GPL but just found it at https://github.com/ViewTouch/viewtouch, which has lots of information. Awesome!

POS system using QT (SQLite Embedded & Azure SQL sync)
The source code is available via https://github.com/ViewTouch/viewtouch
- It’s been fourteen years since the first touch screen phone was introduced, and we still can’t accurately tap a body of text where we want to make an edit or correction in what we typed.

Are there actually any software that's free as in freedom but not free as in beer?
ViewTouch point of sale offers the use of the software at no cost but does charge $49 a month for 24/7 support.

Hey guys, im doing a small project, would appreciate if you could tell me if theres a place I can clarify a lot of my doubts
I am no expert on facial recognition software but I read over an article on https://realpython.com. The site might be a little pricey (to some) but a few people in my Python group highly recommended it. It does have a ton of good tutorials.

Need to Escape My Job
Check out RealPython they were a great resource for me when I first started with Python. Linux skills will always be in demand too, though you might not necessarily find a job for both Python and Linux but I'm sure many exist. When you build a project make sure to document it and have a GitHub page for it, in a way your GitHub will serve as your resume in the software engineering space so take time to learn the platform and Git. More than likely you will also use GitHub or another VCS on the job so it's worth trying to understand.
