Newbie setup with Ubiquiti core and 3rd party cameras
Protect does not support it but I use this https://github.com/ep1cman/unifi-protect-backup See my other comments below about protect/your set up.
-
Protect and saving Detections
Not exactly what you're asking for, but I use this project to upload detection events to cloud storage as they occur: https://github.com/ep1cman/unifi-protect-backup/
- Not offsite backup
-
Protect Video offload script?
I use https://github.com/ep1cman/unifi-protect-backup/pkgs/container/unifi-protect-backup to download and push motion events to my OneDrive. Makes it super easy to share clips.

-
Cloud storage for camera using CloudKey Gen 2 plus?
I use this docker container https://github.com/ep1cman/unifi-protect-backup, which backups the alert footage to my nas and then that gets backed up to Google drive.

Save U. Protect recordings to a NAS.
Use a third party solution (not an endorsement, i've never personally used this solution)

RTSP into Protect
As u/ijuiceman said, officially no. If you're able to host a docker container somewhere there are unofficial proxy solutions like https://github.com/keshavdv/unifi-cam-proxy , but it's always going to be a little hacky and Ubiquiti could break it at any moment.

UniFi G4 Bullet integrated to a gate pillar
Actually, you can add a RTSP stream to UniFi. Look up UniFi-cam-proxy
-
Is Ubiquiti Protect compatible with third party "generic" IP cams?
This is the project I was referring to: https://github.com/keshavdv/unifi-cam-proxy
-
Change from Ubiquiti NVR / Hikvision to BLUE IRIS
As a fyi you can also get non unifi cameras to work on their system as well https://github.com/keshavdv/unifi-cam-proxy
- Is it possible to add non-ubiquiti cameras?
-
Insane price increases
Well... The right thing to do now is to show support for this project, that should allow using any cameras with the Ubnt Protect software: https://github.com/keshavdv/unifi-cam-proxy There seem to be some holdbacks now with the new software versions, used to work on older ones, but with enough visibility maybe the right guys might end up helping...
-
Ive went deep into the rabbit hole of security cameras... now here i am! help me understand...
technically you can pass third party cameras through a server that runs this and the NVR will be none the wiser
-
