Google Chrome is killing all uBlock Origin bypasses, Edge, Opera to follow
Same here, but when a site completely fails in Firefox I either A) use my phone because mobile Firefox occasionally works or B) use Ungoogled Chromium.

Really hoping the uBlock will continue to work on that project...

I Built a Self-Healing Extension Stabilizer for Ungoogled Chromium (and You Can Use It Too)
I've been using Ungoogled Chromium as my daily driver for a while now. The speed is incredible — no telemetry overhead, no background services phoning home, just a lean, fast browser that gets out of your way.

A History of IDEs at Google
Brings back lots of memories. The only way i used that tool was back when Chrome stopped forever history near about the year 2014-2015 and limited users to 90 days of history.
I was trying to wrap around my head like reading the comments trying how to put it back in. Wrong strategy without serious review does more of harm.
More than a decade of this fiasco Google Chrome should bring it back forever history, now they dont have an excuse for this, what i hear (google Chrome now downloads an offline LLM without considering data charges or space requirements in edge deployed server, etc.), and it will help users themselves as now most browsers except Firefox or Safari are Chromium-Based and they too inherited this shiny features with not-so obvious limitations.
The History bug in point - https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40358997
Fun read seeing even with all the tools in the world there is not enough soul or will to fix a very minor regression made by human error of judgement and other companies just accept that like their lives depend on it.
Good thing after reading the above article came to know its possible to use this https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium has a flag to store old history.

It's based on ungoogled-chromium which applies https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/blo... to retain manifest v2 features.

Chromium is Chrome with "less" (but, still substantial) Google. ungoogled-chromium[1] is Chromium with no Google.

uBlock Origin is no longer available on the Chrome Store
What's the best next choice if I don't want to move away from a Chrome-like experience?
(Old habits die hard)
There's https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium - is it a sound choice nowadays?

What, if anything, should I do about using Mozilla's Firefox
I'll wait for Ladybird to be more mature.
Until then, I'm more than happy with Thorium:
https://thorium.rocks/
So far, the only complain is it doesn't support Netflix (usual DRM stuff):

Microsoft begins turning off uBlock Origin and other extensions in Edge
[Thorium](https://thorium.rocks/) is a fork of Chromium that maintains a patchset that reverses functional and UI regressions introduced by Google (such as the tabs and menu styling from the 2023 refresh). The author has committed to maintain manifest V2 support for as long as possible.

hello, maybe i am back for a while
the original plan was to self-host my blog and write there but lot of stuff happend and i still haven't created a self-hosted blog. so i will stick to dev.to for my next posts as my good old waterfox classic browser was killed by "overjavascriptification" from all sides. now i am on a browser mix of my good old waterfox, librewolf and ungoogled chromium. i will evaluate thorium and mercury next. why don't i use the regular firefox? because i really don't like the direction mozilla is going to. the last wtf was the implemenation of some kind of tracking which is opt-out and not opt-in.

Thorium: Cross-platform patched Chromium fork "fastest browser on Earth"
I found the original commit [1] since the other Github link in the thread shows the removal. I'm not entirely sure what the process was around adding to begin with

- Chrome DevTools now uses Gemini to help with JavaScript Errors in the console

I'm dissuaded from using Thorium after the news of the developer including... questionable material in their builds[0], and checked into CVS no less.
