My daily machine is currently at 16GiB, the same as ten years ago. My memory usage is down from five or six years ago, which I attribute mainly to uMatrix script-blocking browser plugin.

I need Firefox to a) recognize that some of us simply do not WANT to let any random website run code and b) allow me to assign fine-grained permissions Javascript permissions ala Umatrix (https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix).

Check your facts.

This vulnerability has been fixed in uMatrix 1.4.2 [0], released few days after the linked news article.

To those familiar with the HTML DOM I recommend uMatrix from the same author as uBlock origin. It makes a good companion to uBlock Origin and provides much finer control.
