Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

If you don't want to actually write the code and deal with the browser webstores, you can also use an "extension builder" tool like https://www.pixiebrix.com/ to call APIs, move data around, and build simple UIs.

any tools to help navigate site you are embedding / read information from?
We have some logic here for parsing tables to JSON: https://github.com/pixiebrix/pixiebrix-extension/blob/main/src/utils/parseDomTable.ts (code is AGPL). Given a table, it can detect the table orientation and parse most table structures.
