What are your must-have software for Linux gaming?
Discover Overlay: This lets you have an overlay for Discord, since Discord on Linux still has no overlay support of its own. It's a little janky, but being able to see who's talking and read what the people in text chat are saying is just an important part of being social online. I love being able to both play video games and hang out with friends simultaneously, so this is just about mandatory for me.

FF XIV on Linux, a quick no wizardry guide
ACT Overlays will always perform badly because of how wine handles transparency. It's recommend to use something else for overlays like hudkit or imgoverlay or just plain out normal browser window and use the overlay plugin to generate a URL in Plugins -> OverlayPlugin WSServer -> URL generator at the bottom that you can hook into the said programs. Dalamud overlays work fine because they draw into the game window itself instead of using window transparency but if you aren't using DXVK async they do cause a little bit of lag too. FFLogs has a native Linux client so it just works with no glaring issues.

Discord overlay
You can try https://github.com/nowrep/imgoverlay/ . It renders the overlay inside the game process, so it won't interfere with compositor. I've added example config with Discord overlay.
