I made a free text-to-speech tool with ChatGPT's help!
It uses an API for the TikTok voices: https://github.com/oscie57/tiktok-voice

I made an app that turns articles into audio, and sends it to your podcast player to listen later. It works with Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or any other player
I tried it out with an article but the voice was - let's say not necessarily enjoyable. Personally I enjoy the murf.io voices. They are often used in Reddit stories on TikTok. AFAIK they have an API and multiple languages, but it might be too expensive for your company. The standard voices made by TikTok are also pretty good but I don't think they support other languages (I might be wrong though), and I found a GitHub article here documenting how to use it

New to Python. Don't know how to fix a simple syntax error.
the VOICE parameter should be one thing without embedded spaces. The github page for this has a codes.md page that shows what VOICES should be. You probably want is en_us_001.

I'm not on tik too so this may not be a new thing, but I've noticed a new male AI voice over on their videos. My not stupid question is: is there any way to get that voice to read my textbooks for me?
Well have I got the github project for you! Tiktok, for whatever reason, has absolutely no authentication on their text to speech APIs, so you can just send whatever text you like over to them and they will dutifully send you back an audio file. But try to keep this on the down low, they might not appreciate the unauthorised use ;). Because this is new, exciting research in the field of breaking TikTok's terms of service, there's not exactly a user friendly way of accessing it yet, but at least a kind programmer has made a program that makes it a little bit easier.

A better document viewer
If by "like a photocopy" you mean the file contains images of text rather than text, the MacOS viewer presumably does OCR on the images. I don't know if there's a Linux document viewer with that capability built-in, but a quick search turned up the standalone tool OCRmyPDF.

OCR pdf and just keep the OCR text
Fair enough, maybe this might work for you, it should seperate the text from image anyway and if you have Adobe acrobat it should be able delete the background too with the edit function. It may already be able to do that if you haven't tried it
