I really don’t know about editing .srt files in vim. In the end, perhaps it is better to use specialized tools like https://kitone.github.io/subtitleeditor/ or something.

With regards .srt files, I have here the syntax file https://gitlab.com/mcepl/vimdir/-/blob/master/syntax/srt.vim (I have no idea where it is from, …. aah, https://linux.overshoot.tv/ticket/5581 ), and there is a failed attempt at https://github.com/ggandor/vim-srt-sync .
