Where do y’all write your fics?
Vim, a plain text editor, from the command line. I use a macro language similar to LaTeX to do formatting. It's got some features that make it pretty nice for my needs, but most people would probably dislike it.
- Had my 7 year old doing spelling words on VIM. Since she has not done much text editing it was effortless to get her thinking in "modes."

Need help editing epub in Sigil
Glad you were able to fix it, but what about trying Calibre? It is free and makes it easy to adjust things, add info, and change front covers.

Ebooks
There are already some very good ebooks solutions out there so there's really no need. Calibre for the backend and database management, Calibre-Web for the front end, and Openbooks for content.
