Problems to play some songs ports made by MrThatKid4
It means the lowest version you could use to play those files is the last build stepmania, stepmania 5.1b2 (https://github.com/stepmania/stepmania/releases/tag/v5.1.0-b2)
- Does anyone know why StepMania is lagging so much for? Is there a way fix this problem? My frame rate is so low. Outfox runs fine, but StepMania doesn’t which makes no sense.

I would recommend grabbing 5.1 from here: https://github.com/stepmania/stepmania/releases/tag/v5.1.0-b2 Don't worry about the "beta" label, this version is very stable but it never got a proper release because the development team sort of fell apart after that.

PIURED: a web-based pump it up engine!
Hey, if you want a Pump-style theme that's easy enough to set up on Linux, I've been working on Infinitesimal with a few others! It's an OutFox theme, so pump-style gameplay is a lot more accurate than what you'd find in older SM5 builds, and once the Alpha V update is released pretty soon here, the new piu gamemode it includes will be even better and more accurate than the current pump mode

i just downloaded stepmania 5.0.12 and upon trying to play it, this came up. what do i do to fix this?
I would suggest downloading the next generation of StepMania instead! But, if you have some proprietary reason for running 5.0.12, then I guess I understand.

so Ive been playing StepMania for about 5 or so hours now after getting bored of Friday Night Funkin and I LOVE IT. Here's a recording of me playing :)
If you're having performance issues I'd recommend trying Project OutFox (https://projectmoon.dance/) it will support anything from the current version you're playing, including the theme.
