Finally, a real reason to power down
Simple bash script that has a few videos supplied for you, plus you can add anything you want to /vids/ to make it part of the pick list. There's also a randomizer provided here. I'm biased here as I wrote this tool.

I'm working on a dynamic boot video generator using Remotion. Here's what I have as of now. Thoughts?
How expensive is it computationally to create one? You could probably pretty easily leverage a system similar to my Randomizer where you have a .service unit file that calls the script to create one. You could keep the video file in the same location with the same name and the same symlink to uioverrides/movies/deck_startup.webm and just overwrite the source video file on boot.

Decky plugin Animation Changer help
I found this tool which seems much easier to set up. Though it'd be nice if it was part of the Decky plugins.
-
I was watching The Simpsons where Smithers booted his computer and had to do it.
This tool does the trick and is really easy to use. Works perfect. I have about 25 boot videos, one gets randomly selected whenever I boot my deck.

- How are people making boot videos? And how do I make one?

The Phantom Deck: One Up Version (credits in comments!)
Valve has actually added support for that "natively" some time ago (SteamOS 3.3.2 iirc) but the best way imo is still the Animation Changer plugin for Decky since it directly links to the SteamDeckRepo and gives you all of them sweet memes ;)

You can see your community made boot in the new steam menu if you add them manually
Someone opened a ticket on github, [Feature Request] Integrate Animation Changer in to the Steam Deck Settings Customization menu · Issue #37 · TheLogicMaster/SDH-AnimationChanger · GitHub hopefully soon enough !

Finally, a real reason to power down
There's a Decky Plugin that lets you browse and install videos from SteamDeckRepo
