Finally, a real reason to power down
Simple bash script that has a few videos supplied for you, plus you can add anything you want to /vids/ to make it part of the pick list. There's also a randomizer provided here. I'm biased here as I wrote this tool.

Random boot animation
https://github.com/AutoMcG/steamdeck_tools works fine for me

I'm working on a dynamic boot video generator using Remotion. Here's what I have as of now. Thoughts?
How expensive is it computationally to create one? You could probably pretty easily leverage a system similar to my Randomizer where you have a .service unit file that calls the script to create one. You could keep the video file in the same location with the same name and the same symlink to uioverrides/movies/deck_startup.webm and just overwrite the source video file on boot.

Decky plugin Animation Changer help
I found this tool which seems much easier to set up. Though it'd be nice if it was part of the Decky plugins.
-
I was watching The Simpsons where Smithers booted his computer and had to do it.
This tool does the trick and is really easy to use. Works perfect. I have about 25 boot videos, one gets randomly selected whenever I boot my deck.

Custom Css loader themes on steam deck
This is the main process to viewing and styling the steam deck UI. The shared.css and theme.json files are used to upload the theme to the css loader plugin in decky. To get a better understanding of that process, please go to the CSS loader themeDB repository for more information
- Can you change the DEFAULT artwork of a Non-Steam game so it's not a grey boxart?
-
I made a website, Steam Deck Repo, where you can upload and share community-made Steam Deck boot videos (plus in the future, other things like themes and an app to automatically apply them to the Steam Deck)!
(also, example of a full theme from css loader: https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/CssLoader-ThemeDb/blob/main/images/EMERALD/Phantom.jpg this screenshot only shows the homepage, but it affects the whole system afaik)

Creating a Gaben-based theme for the CSS loader
If you end up making a full theme it might be worth checking out putting it on the css loader's new theme store: https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/CssLoader-ThemeDb

SDH-CssLoader v1.0: A theme loader for deck, now with a theme store
You can look at the backend theme data but that's about it: https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/CssLoader-ThemeDb/releases/download/1.0.0/themes.json
