Is there a way to get SNES games on a non new 3ds system?

I modded my 3ds and now it's a bit finicky
Using a different emulator is definitely an option. I use SNES9x for romhacks/randomizers because they seem to not work half the time when injected. Not every build works for super metroid link to the past randomizer, but I can confirm this one does (direct link to the zip)

FYI for those curious you can emulate SNES games on a 2DS just fine with the right emulator! :)

Romhacks on the 3ds
It can be done. Have you already followed the 3ds hacking guide to install Luma3ds? If so, I believe you can simply just use a homebrew emulator for Mother 1 and 2 (Virtuanes and Snes9x3ds). You can also use NSUI to essentially install them as games to the home screen. Ask r/3dshacks if you need help or have any questions.

Trying to get temperancepce to work with cd games on my 3ds. every time i try to boot up the cue file for rondo of blood it gives me this "errmmm...rom failed to load:(:(:(:(" message and i have no clue why. as you can see all syscards are here so idk why it's not running the rondo rom? help!

Also, I'll add to your list. There's also PicoDrive for SMS/GG/Genesis/MD and TemperPCE for TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine, both by the same dev, bubble2k16.

Can R4 gold play GB/GBC/GBA/NES/DS games on an new 3DS XL
CFW also allows you to have better GBA (open_agb_firm, VC injects, or mGBA) and NES (VirtuaNES) emulation and everything else is possible with CFW too, an R4 isn't really needed on 3DS unless you want to play one of the few games that don't work with TWiLight Menu++.
