What the Google overlords don't want you to see
I still recommend a Searx instance over google. Independently run search engines using an open-source software that aggregate searches over multiple engines, including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Wikipedia, DDG, Ecosia, and many many more.

newpipe.net removed from Google search results due to DMCA take down request
This kind of thing is why I use searx

how safe is duckduckgo?
I recommend hopping on public SearxNG instances. https://searx.space/

Searx.be was shut down by ISP
This was my default search in Safari, the "new tab opens with" way.
Now it shows "Cloud provider terminated all my servers, service is down for the moment. Working on it. Sorry. Please use other instances on https://searx.space"

Try a Marxist-Leninist search engine - is it useful?
Assuming you don't publicly list this instance on searx.space, you should be fine with a small vps. I don't see this thing having more than a dozen concurrent users so I wouldn't bother with a vps larger than 2gb of ram and 2 cpu . This should cost less than 10-20 bucks a month on vultr or digitalocean. Then you just need a domain, which can be as little as like 8 bucks a year depends on where you get it. So I'd estimate it would cost 80-120 a year to run.

Haha nice try Google. I ain't that stupid
If anyone is interested in getting around search related privacy issues, look into a public SearXNG instance. It doesn't mitigate all privacy concerns but does a lot to move in that direction.

A way to stream private music on Windows?
Win/Mac/Linux : Nuclear : https://github.com/nukeop/nuclear Radio mode automatically plays similar songs. If the connection is slow, You can change Invidious : https://docs.invidious.io/instances/

I hate my youtube recommendations; any solution?
nuclear (Win/Mac/Linux) : is audio only, but plays similar songs at random. It's a radio mode. It can also change its randomness. The exact same artist is not consecutive. But it will come back to the same artist. There seems to be a few bugs in terms of usability.

Thanks Spotify. There's no way to get rid of this either.
Why not use nuclear

Alternatives to Spotify that are open-source and ad-free.
Nuclear is a music player that will use various sources around the internet such as YouTube and Bandcamp to search for and stream music completely ad free. The client itself keeps track of your artists, playlists, and likes. It doesn't require an account or any personal information to use and at times feels too good to be true. On the downside it's sometimes slow to play music of fails to play songs on occasion. You can easily grab it from Flathub but they also have other downloads available on the website. If you use snap packages I'd advise you to download the snap from their github instead. The one on snapcraft hasn't been updated for a while.

Ad-free Spotify.
Nuclear is an app that will stream music from multiple sources including soundcloud, bandcamp, and youtube to give you the same features as a streaming service without ads or tracking. Yes, this is also completely open-source.

How & Why I Built My Very Own Music Player
I am the dev of music-kraken https://pypi.org/project/music-kraken/. Its a music downloader downloading music from various sources. It is not quite there yet but it works pretty reliably yet. Once it got so far, that I got a stable enough programming interface, I suggest a collaboration, so you can embed my downloader as the core into monoboxes backend to make something like nuclear https://nuclear.js.org/ which wouldn't be buggy as hell though. A REAL replacement for Spotify.
