The script was made by myself, but I've also seen some similar scripts that inspired some updates, e.g.: * https://www.reddit.com/r/commandline/comments/oceuu3/nifty_little_ocr_script_which_i_use_a_lot_maybe/ * https://github.com/sdushantha/dotfiles/blob/master/bin/bin/utils/ocr

I use fish as my default shell and for scripts, the shebang should take care of anything. Why would you say the default must be POSIX-compliant? Almost a year of daily driving fish and I haven't come across anything I need from say bash (except here docs ) but they are not a deal breaker for me. I like the built in "webserver" to add configurations and themes, it was a long time until I understood bash's PS1 enough to be able to meaningfully modify it

You might want to try an alternative shell for your CLI. E.g. `fish` (https://fishshell.com/) does that.

Fish is a wonderful Shell with many things ready out-of-the box, making it the most convenient shell I used without having to customise it. If you want to learn more about Fish, there are good articles here on dev.to, and the Fish doc does a good job at presenting it.
