Show HN: I built a website to share files and messages without any server
I like the wormhole-william[0] Go implementation of "Magic Wormhole" protocol on the CLI. There's a couple of compatible Android apps[1][2] in the F-Droid store and Rydmport[3] for your GUI loving friends.

Are there any open source projects that need contributors?
It isn’t quite Python or C++ but Go shouldn’t be that hard to learn. I’m always looking for more help developing my pet project: https://github.com/Jacalz/rymdport

Rymdport v3.4.0 - Making encrypted file transfers easier than ever before
Rymdport is a cross-platform application written in Go. It lets you easily and safely share files, folders, and text between devices using a short and memorable code. Transfers are sent using the same protocol as magic-wormhole meaning that basically all magic-wormhole clients are supported as well.

Some apps not working on Wayland
It’s rather unfortunate as it prevents me (given that I always use Wayland) to get https://github.com/Jacalz/rymdport to Flathub.

I worked on https://github.com/fyne-io/flatpak_demo a while back. Hopefully it might be somewhat useful.

Some apps not working on Wayland
As you say, I am not suing the Wayland socket. The toolkit can either be built with only X11 or with only Wayland (the latter not being more than an alpha) and I’m building with only X11. The spec that I’m using: https://github.com/fyne-io/flatpak_demo/blob/main/io.fyne.flatpak_demo.yml

Help with making a flatpak
I was having the same issues as you and I put together this demo project to help others where I struggled. It’s not doing anything with Python, but I hope that it might at least get you on the right track. https://github.com/fyne-io/flatpak_demo

Rust, Flatpak and Building
While it isn’t directly Rust code, I think you could translate the Flatpak spec relatively easily and switch out to the the free desktop Rust extension. This repository should contain a lot of data that might be useful: https://github.com/fyne-io/flatpak_demo
