Amazon's Ring to Stop Letting Police Request Doorbell Video from Users
Short answer is no. It's been a while since I last looked at it but the long answer is "kinda in a hacky way, with a lot of work, and Ring is gonna fight you the whole way because they want you to pay."

Starting March 29, 2023, a Ring Protect subscription will be required to access Ring Alarm in-app features in the US and Canada
If you have an existing Ring security system, you can either integrate all of it's sensors and alarm control with Home Assistant via Ring MQTT or get your own ZWave hub, connect all the sensors to that, and use Alarmo to create your own security system. I'm doing the former since I want to pay for the peace of mind that comes from a professionally monitored security system, but can switch to the latter if Amazon gets too greedy.

Suggestions for fixing offset on contact sensor?
I used this add-on so I can continue to use Ring and get to use the sensors for automations. But otherwise yeah most Ring accessories are surprisingly DIY friendly.

Considering the Ring Alarm Pro as a router and home security system. If the Ring system is killed by Amazon, is your investment bricked?
Speaking of Home Assistant, Ring integrates really well with Home Assistant using the add-on version of ring-mqtt. I pay for Ring for the convenience but can also control it and easily use its sensors for other things this way. If Ring does go away I'll bite the bullet and use Alarmo instead.

If you’re using HomeBridge for cameras, ditch it for Scrypted
If you happen to also be using Home Assistant then the Ring-MQTT HA Add-on is nice but I haven't pushed it back from Home Assistant into HomeKit. I'm only using that for dashboard display right now.

You got it, I'm using the ring mqtt addon with a picture-entity card. I didn't have much luck with the out of the box ring integration but this one works fantastic for me: https://github.com/tsightler/ring-mqtt-ha-addon
