I just bought a T480s, have some questions
anyone got the fingerprint reader to work? arch wiki says the default one in Linux doesn't work and suggest using this - https://github.com/uunicorn/python-validity

I don't have a Lenovo, I have a Dell, but while tinkering to get the fingerprint reader on my machine working, I had come across this (and I understand it works for Lenovo).

Update - I've put Arch back on it for diagnosis, and with this repo from the AUR I've got it working again.

Fingerprint reader worked on Arch, struggling to get it running on Gentoo
I found this git repo. It asks to use PIP, but I found and installed the Python dependencies manually with emerge until I got it running, but now it throws errors more complicated than missing dependencies, and I'm struggling to troubleshoot.
