What is the best email client you guys used
Kmail, all I need is something that alerts me when new mails arrive and that has a tray icon. On my work laptop I use prospect mail it's just a wrapper for outlook but it works well enough.
-
Open app in the background
Yeah, for that you'd probably need to ask the developer of the app to support it. Might want to open an issue and see if they are interested in implementing a start to tray function or something. Good luck!

How to stop updating glibc or have packages been updated to support it?

Best alternatives now that Ferdi is gone
Rambox - Basic free account supports unlimited services, $5/month to unlock features (e.g. spellchecker, customizable workspaces), $144 for lifetime license. Performance on my computer was awful. Also, the app itself doesn't look or feel as polished as their website, imo.

Rambox buys ferdi?
Just went to getferdi.com and I get redirected to rambox.app so I can only assume rambox bought getferdi
-
Ferdi is officially gone
Ferdi website now leads to rambox.app.

Ask HN: What happened to “Ferdi” – the “multi-messenger”?
Now it seems like getferdi.com redirects to https://rambox.app/.. looking very similar to what ferdi was. Is this like a new version ?

CS Majors: using Linux at Stanford
If it helps, I use Rambox instead of seperate instances of messaging clients (Slack, Teams, Discord, etc). I can create multiple tabs, each with a single workspace of slack, and keep them together with my other messaging apps.
-
discord on debian sid?
You could also just use Discord in a browser, or (thats what I do), using it in a "Multi-Messenger" like Rambox. https://rambox.app/

Is Rambox 2.x open source?
The source code for version 0.7.x is available in the repo https://github.com/ramboxapp/community-edition/. Where can we find the source code for the new version 2.x.x? And where can we file issues for this version?
- Whatsapp client for pop os

Just removed myself as a Ferdi's contributor
You can try its predecessor: Franz https://meetfranz.com/ If you want to check something else, you can go with Rambox https://rambox.app/ If none of them works for you, then you should check other apps from alternativeto
