Thoughts on proposal For Type Syntax in JavaScript
As per the proposal:
- Amazon Corretto 18 is now generally available
- A few misconceptions people seem to have about the Types as Comments proposal
-
[AskJS] Why not just add 'application/typescript' support for browsers.
Not runtime ones. https://github.com/giltayar/proposal-types-as-comments/issues/45
- [AskJS] What features do you think this proposal is missing vs the current typescript state?

Deno Is Webby
I do wonder about a future where JavaScript gets non-enforced optional type annotation syntax[1] which is and if said syntax will be slightly incompatible with TypeScript. That would be a little awkward for Deno, wouldn’t it. However I hope that if JS gets type annotation syntax that it would be a strict subset of TypeScript—or at the very least future compatible—for this very reason.

Having Some Kind of Issue
8u321 or newer is unusable for modded minecraft, generally. Look for 8u312. I use AWS Corretto 8u312.
- Downloading older versions of java 64 bits for Windows without an oracle account ???
-
does anyone know if CVE-2022-21426 is relevant to builds prior to 321?
In that case please consult the appropriate changelog of Corretto, e.g. for Java 8: https://github.com/corretto/corretto-8/blob/develop/CHANGELOG.md

For the past year and a half, my Minecraft will randomly white-screen [Java] [Forge 1.8.9]
hm, the classic skyblock mods... according to this your java installation and optifine are causing that, so you should reinstall java using this specific version version of the corretto jdk(newer ones fon't work)

Amazon Corretto 18 is now generally available
At some point i came across a page listing the changes that Amazon had made, relative to the upstream. There wasn't mich for Java 11+, but there were a number of backported fixes for 8. Can't find it now.
But Corretto itself is open source, so someone sufficiently interested could diff that to the upstream:

Oracle's JDK 17 – Free Again for Commercial Use
We moved to Corretto, and have been _very_ happy with them. For example, see how they handled an obscure "Swing seems to crash with my app, but not for anyone else" https://github.com/corretto/corretto-8/issues/331
What are some alternatives?
