Framework laptop alternative with trackpoint built from NUC by prime computer
I'm reminded of the history of the term "open source" itself.
It came from Eric S Raymond and other folks to counter Free Software/GPL in a more commercially minded way.
I think Richard Stallman said it meant "you can view the source" without necessarily granting any other rights.
I think since then it has been more defined, but there seem to be hidden gotcha's possible. Like maybe https://github.com/rapi3/pfsense-is-closed-source

Wanted to view what you guys think of this (related to pfsense)
Not trying to start drama. Genuinely curious about this. Is it true that pfsense cannot be built from source? Any one knowledegable enough care to explain if this is indeed true?

Is it possible to set up a virtual Router?
Are you wanting a router, or a firewall/gateway? For some reason, these are confused all the time. While lots of firewall/gateways will route, you may have to turn a lot of things off to make them clean. (Like NAT) The only FOSS pure router project I know that is still standing is the BSD Router Project. https://bsdrp.net/

Combining router and application host
1) BSDRP, pfsense or OPNSense at the base, and putting TrueNAS with NextCloud on top via virtualization.

In-kernel WireGuard is on its way to FreeBSD and the pfSense router
In the vein of what you've used, I stumbled across https://bsdrp.net/ ; which I'm not sure does WG, but reminded me of your OpenBSD effort. I'd be curious to see a write-up of what you've done, since I'm always looking for solutions in this space.
