I wonder if it will work on https://github.com/organicmaps/organicmaps

So far two similar solutions I tested crapped out on non-ASCII characters. Because Python's UTF-8 decoder is quite strict about it.

OpenStreetMap does not provide native apps, but there are plenty of (navigation) apps that provide touting based on OpenStreetMap data, my favorites being https://www.magicearth.com/ for car navigation, https://cycle.travel/ for bicycle touring and https://organicmaps.app/ for everything else (also completely offline).

Instead of maps.me I suggest to use https://organicmaps.app/, the privacy-respecting fork, since maps.me was sold to a payment processor. OrganicMaps is a fork from the original founders.

I would still want to to know if I can selfhost something of similar, low complexity in my home network.

I live in a country in Europe where roaming is prohibitively expensive, so use offline OpenStreetMap abroad a lot, with different apps, mostly https://organicmaps.app

I have a partial answer for that. ;-) For at least some functions, iterative solutions exist which converge to correct solutions. For at least some iterative solutions the rate of convergence (the estimated error bounds) is a continuous function: it can be seen that convergence proceeds normally (I should be more careful with that word) as long as the estimated error bounds for the iteration is larger than the computationally induced error. I'll hazard a guess that with constraints some formulations which model a three body problem are solvable to the point where the estimated error bounds approaches the computationally induced error due to floating point imprecision.

The thing about the three body problem, same as here, is that there are regions in the initial position and velocity space where very small changes produce extremely large differences in function output.

There has been some work / recognition of the value of topological understanding to orbital mechanics, although I can't find whatever I read a few months ago. Videos of lacrymaria single cell organisms (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=lacrymaria+olor&t=ffab&iar=images&...) show how absurdly sophisticated they are, with complex deformation of their membrane, which itself is remarkable.

They are, but it's by design. You are not supposed to follow them as an ordinary user. They were created in order to show the one true freedom as it should exist.
