The European Union must keep funding free software
PyPy received an EU grant sometime in the late 2000s or early 2010s, although it had to be a different one. If I understood TFA correctly, NLnet is partially funded by this money? NLnet itself distributes money to very cool software things[1]—some moonshots[2], some very down-to-earth and usable ones[3].

Which 2FA app do you use?
KeePassXC mostly; andOTP when I don't have my laptop with me. Recently got my Nitrokey, which works great as well. Has both USB-C as well as NFC, so that might be the more convenient alternative to andOTP in the future.

Can you import your own FIDO2 private keys?
Other FIDO2 devices allow the firmware to be rewritten but Yubico does not allow such changes. I prefer Yubico's approach so we have better assurance of validity. https://github.com/Nitrokey/nitrokey-fido2-firmware

Does Matebook x pro 2021 work fine with linux?
I use an older laptop (2018 i7 + gpu) running Manjaro gnome. Fingerprint reader does not work however there is some guys on a discord channel that work on reversing the windows driver https://github.com/mpi3d/goodix-fp-dump. Battery will be lower but I think that's mostly because of compatibility with Nvidia drivers and electron / chromium apps with their default configuration. Most notably YouTube playback in any chromium based browser will be running without HW acceleration out of the box. There are some guides on how to improve some it but you'll have to spend some time on it.

Fingerprint reader doesn't work. Mine is a Goodix and there isn't a driver for my model. Some people are reversing the driver with good progress: https://github.com/mpi3d/goodix-fp-dump
