    • I use an older laptop (2018 i7 + gpu) running Manjaro gnome. Fingerprint reader does not work however there is some guys on a discord channel that work on reversing the windows driver https://github.com/mpi3d/goodix-fp-dump. Battery will be lower but I think that's mostly because of compatibility with Nvidia drivers and electron / chromium apps with their default configuration. Most notably YouTube playback in any chromium based browser will be running without HW acceleration out of the box. There are some guides on how to improve some it but you'll have to spend some time on it.
