Please note that there is a uniform syntax for logical operations and predicates "is equal to", "greater than" and even "matches the regular expression".     I have a prototype of such utility which I sometimes use to view live dev server logs. It will be great if someone undertakes to implement a complete set of tools. And when there are tools, then software developers will be motivated to write logs not randomly, but in a structured way.
