YouTube-dl fork with additional features and fixes
Obligatory reference to https://github.com/alexta69/metube which allows you to front yt-dlp with a webpage.
Already posted here how I have it as part of my stack: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37113339

Downloading a video should be “fair use” as recording a song from the radio
I selfhost https://github.com/alexta69/metube
I have it sitting on a URL and I have an iOS share shortcut to throw any URL at it and it downloads the video.
Copy-paste from my ansible setup if you're interested, shouldn't be that hard to convert to docker-compose.

metube plugin?
Anyone want a metube plugin for swizzin? It's a youtube downloader I integrated in to swizzin. If there is interest I'll finish the installer/uninstaller. It works on docker as per the official github at https://github.com/alexta69/metube but it integrates itself in swizzin and monitors the docker container for the heartbeat. Uninstall works too.

Anyone using stashapp? Any easy youtube-dl integration...
I'm basically looking for https://github.com/stashapp/stash + https://github.com/alexta69/metube - basically you copy paste a pornhub link; it downloads a local copy and tags it away with everything from the original site.
- Is there a way to add songs to a Youtube Music playlist or library and have them automatically downloaded and added to my personal library every time it happens (to be accessed by Plex, Jellyfin, navidrome etc)?

Spot the decoy!
Was quite surprised how little it uses. I also set up a samba share to easily manage to space via Ubuntu. For plex's data store /media location. https://youtu.be/675p5fuEQa4 (this is a bit of a pain in the arse but it does work) Also a fun one is metube https://github.com/alexta69/metube I set it to MP4 and best , honestly it's so easy wack a link in give it a few watch yt in bed via plex without adverts.

[Docker] Problems mounting a folder from the host OS (a mounted Samba share) for use in a Docker container (metube)
I am trying to set up metube in a Docker container using Portainer. Specifically, I'm creating a new Stack in Portainer and copy/pasting in the Compose file from the GitHub page. First, like a noob, I left the volumes as /path/to/downloads and it indeed created a folder like that on the main drive of my Ubuntu server which runs Docker. I then changed it to my user's home with /downloads at the end. All that works fine.

Hardware done after 6 months. Software = WiP. Clusters all the way!
I run this https://github.com/alexta69/metube Which is basically YT dl which is good cause u don't get ads. Then play via plex

MeTube - Possible to rearrange/sort Downloading table?
I am adding a YouTube Playlist to MeTube and it downloads the videos as I want. But the "Downloading" list is sorted, so that the currently downloading song is at the bottom of the list. I'd love to add a playlist and at the top, on page load, see, what's currently downloading. Does anybody know, if this is possible? Sorting the playlist, so that the currently downloading is at the top.

Bookmark manager with a focus on organization?
holy hell I hadn't come across archivebox as of yet, I'll definitely be spinning this up this eve. Is the UI comfortable enough to use as a "bookmark manager"? just been setting up tubearchivist for essentially this purpose, wondering if ArchiveBox would essentially do the same

New release: v0.4.0
It has been some time since the last release, but v0.4.0 is finally wrapped up. This brings a wide range of fixes and changes, particularly stability improvements, with our new file system naming convention, this should solve a bunch of previously unsolvable compatibility issues. I highly recommend reading the release notes carefully, as the filesystem migration could be a breaking change if you made changes manually there: https://github.com/tubearchivist/tubearchivist/releases/tag/v0.4.0

Self hosted YouTube media server – Tube Archivist
I saw this was a Django app so I dug around to look at their models. As far as I can tell this is all they have: https://github.com/tubearchivist/tubearchivist/blob/master/t... - just a `Account` model.
It looks like Django + SQLite is used for user accounts, but all other data storage happens in Elasticsearch.
It's an interesting design decision. I would have gone all-in on the database, and used SQLite FTS in place of Elasticsearch for simplicity, but that's my own personal favourite stack. Not saying their design is bad, just different.

Looking for a specific episode
Oh, so it is. I happen to run a TubeArchivist at home that grabs the videos and subtitles. Then I can search through the subtitle files for key phrases. I must have grabbed it while it was still public.

YouTube channel auto download and filters
You probably want Tube Archivist. The only problem is that it’s naming convention doesn’t work with the Jellyfin YouTube Metadata Plugin.
What are some alternatives?

watchtower - A process for automating Docker container base image updates.
