The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

memstats - memory usage for multiple processes on Linux
A lot of stackoverflow answers suggest to sum RSS or VSZ, or whatever memory metric (USS,PSS...). In my experience, this will not provide a good approximation of memory usage. See the test program https://github.com/tatref/linux-mem/blob/master/oracle-tools/src/bin/multi-mmap.rs. The only tool that report a good value is systemd-cgtop is you use cgroups

Does anyone else find Gnome "System Monitor" not so pretty? I know this app is harder to re-write or convert to GTK4 compare to others like an image viewer etc. I appreciate the hard work put in to these apps.
Not wanting to toot my own horn here, but I've been working on an alternative for quite some time now. It's still not finished yet but I think it's moderately usable. If you'd like to take a look: https://github.com/nokyan/resources :)

The new gnome disk design look cool.
A friend of mine u/toboRcinaM is currently working on one. GitHub Repo resources It's currently WIP and can break your system if SELinux isn't configured properly. So be careful if you want to try it.
What are some alternatives?
