Moving Head Light Control via Joystick or Xbox Controller
I believe there's a couple of lighthack libraries to do this using an Arduino to spit OSC to the Ion. The GitHub link to get you started is https://github.com/ETCLabs/lighthack. I think there's one to use a Wii nunchuck which you may be able to adapt.

hey.. i did this a while back in python.. its dated and needs updates so would love to help u with yours .. https://github.com/sandinak/dmx-followspot for my old version. it was designed to be an inline processor so would work with any dmx source .. PM if u wanna collab :)

I did a project for this at one point .. https://github.com/sandinak/dmx-followspot .. I havn't updated the code in years .. but have some vacation time coming up and hope to work on it ;)
