Oddly, it would have been easier to port if it had been written in GBStudio 2.x, since there is GBSenpai which allows GBStudio projects to be easily ported to the GBA. https://github.com/asiekierka/gbsenpai

there's a tool to make gbstudio games run natively on gba, with widescreen and everything. though, it requires you use gbstudio 2 beta 5. https://github.com/asiekierka/gbsenpai
