Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

I created a better checkerboard detection algorithm written in Python!
A major problem with intrinsic calibration is the lack of open source libraries that can accurately detect highly distorted, high density checkerboards. OpenCV and other surface level detection libraries are pretty much unusable for anything other than low density checkerboards. MATLAB has a great package, but it is obviously closed source and is pretty slow. Libcdetect is okay, but there are only versions written in MATLAB and C++ (and I have no idea how to use C++ haha. Let me know if you know how to use this C++ package!).

powering an esp32 with batteries
If you look at recharging the device a good charging circuit and low quiescent LDO is needed. Andreas Spieß (popular YouTuber in this domain) compared several developer boards. The outcome is for me to go for „Firebeetle“. A project of mine gives details: https://github.com/Torxgewinde/Firebeetle-2-ESP32-E

Keeping time while in deep sleep possible?
My PIR sensor runs from battery and uses the RTC to estimate battery runtime: https://github.com/Torxgewinde/Firebeetle-2-ESP32-E/blob/main/Firebeetle_DeepSleep.ino
- ESP32 motion sensor
- Powering the ESP32 using a 3.7V Battery
What are some alternatives?
kalibr - The Kalibr visual-inertial calibration toolbox
OpenMQTTGateway - MQTT gateway for ESP8266 or ESP32 with bidirectional 433mhz/315mhz/868mhz, Infrared communications, BLE, Bluetooth, beacons detection, mi flora, mi jia, LYWSD02, LYWSD03MMC, Mi Scale, TPMS, BBQ thermometer compatibility & LoRa.
DFPlayerMini_Fast - Fast and easy to understand Arduino library to use the DFPlayer Mini MP3 module from DFRobot.com. This is a huge improvement (both in terms of execution speed and simplicity) to the standard library provided by DFRobot.com.
Marlin - Marlin is an optimized firmware for RepRap 3D printers based on the Arduino platform. Many commercial 3D printers come with Marlin installed. Check with your vendor if you need source code for your specific machine.
blynk-library - Blynk library for IoT boards. Works with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, Particle, ARM Mbed, etc.
AVR-ADC-Wrapper - A static, type checked wrapper for AVR devices' ADC.
IRremoteESP8266 - Infrared remote library for ESP8266/ESP32: send and receive infrared signals with multiple protocols. Based on: https://github.com/shirriff/Arduino-IRremote/
BBQ-temp-publisher - Publish BBQ temperature readings via MQTT using an ESP32.
Smart-Battery-Module-Info_For_Arduino - Arduino sketch, which helps detecting the connections of the I2C interface and prints info available from the SMB (SmartBatteryModule) laptop battery pack.
infidel-sensor - Firmware, mechanical and electrical design files for the Inline Filament Diameter Estimator, Lowcost (InFiDEL).
powerkit - Desktop Independent Power Manager
