lbry-trending-algos VS TikTok-Api

Beside muting of channels, it's possible to connect to different hub-server that would use different algorithm to decide how trending works. Though at the moment I'm not aware of there being much choices. You may be able to find something interesting from here: https://github.com/eggplantbren/lbry-trending-algos I think current the system is "variable_decay". I don't know where/how these are used.

I tried TikAPI, but the API request limitations make it impossible... Now I found this unofficial API on GitHub but I am lost...

I've never used the TikTokApi (hell, I've never used TT), but this does look very similar to the following (currently unfixed) bug from Dev 2022: https://github.com/davidteather/TikTok-Api/issues/979

Here's a TikTok API for Python. And here's the Hue API (obviously, that's only useful if you have Phillips Hue lights).

But so far TikTok seems to be annoying to crawl, as in most tools like TikTokAPI, tiktok-scraper or more generally yt-dlp break regularly. My own basic attempts work for some data but I'm more or less waiting for them to break, too.

And there's not a working version of an Unofficial API either--seems TikTok has enabled captchas to prevent data scraping.

So what you're telling me is I shouldn't apply to TikTok having created TikTok-API

Not sure why people here are saying there isn't an API available for TikTok. https://github.com/davidteather/TikTok-Api is a free API that can be uses.

As part of a project centered around TikTok (coming soon!) I needed a way to get a video's media. The closest thing that TikTok officially provides is their oembed API, but unfortunately this only includes basic information like title, thumbnail_url etc. And other unofficial APIs cost money or require python, which I don't want to do. So I needed another way to retrieve this info.
