You said you wanted to go over to the DARK side...😎 Kiwix JS PWA/Electron 2.2.5 now with built-in DarkReader 👇
Please note the lightweight browser-extension version of Kiwix JS also has dark themes, but not yet the DarkReader plugin. We have opened an issue for that.

A fond? goodbye to Internet Explorer? Not for Kiwix!
For your information, even though the world is saying goodbye to Internet Explorer, our Kiwix JS keeps support for: IE11, IceCat 60.7, Firefox OS, Windows Mobile, all while supporting the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Edge. Because we want to make sure that anyone, anywhere in the world, is able to read and access Kiwix archives!

My personal guide on how to read .zim files that use service workers on your desktop
Please note that Zimit support in the PWA is experimental, and it may struggle with highly dynamic content. Any issues can be reported to me here. Kiwix devs will be working on standardized (and hopefully more universal) Zimit support across the range of apps, with dedicated developer focus planned for the end of May.

Any way to stop screen rotation on Kiwix JS PWA on Android?
u/verrucagnome This fix is now released in v2.4.0: https://github.com/kiwix/kiwix-js-windows/releases/tag/v2.4.0 and the PWA https://pwa.kiwix.org (let it update to v2.4.0).

New useability update for Kiwix JS for Linux and Windows v2.3.0
u/Nibb31 There's no need to run it in Docker, as you can compile the Electron versions on either Linux or Windows simply by cloning the Repo and running npm install --save-dev, then npm start to test, or npm run dist-linux (or dist-win), to make packages. See scripts in package.json. It uses electron-builder to build the apps, in case you're familiar with its CLI.
