My sv06’s garbage bed level
I just installed Ubuntu server and then used KIAUH to install Klipper. I was up and running in less than 20 minutes.

Ender 3 with RepRap discount Display?
You can install Ubuntu on any spare laptop/desktop you might have and install Klipper using kiauh. https://github.com/dw-0/kiauh

Z offset not even close
There are several options for other firmware, the popular ones being Marlin, MRISCOC (“professional firmware” as you see it called around here), and Klipper. Klipper is the gold standard and I highly recommend it. People talk about how difficult it is to install, but it literally takes 15 minutes with KIAUH (an installation script that makes it dummy proof). There are tons of written and video goods online.

Need help solving Moonraker warnings
Give it a try. It makes things so much easier. Follow the instructions on https://github.com/th33xitus/kiauh from the section "Download and use KIAUH". Then start it by: "cd ~/KIAUH & ./KIAUH.sh" There choose install and you should see an option to install crowsnest. If that doesn't work, try either deleting the existing crowsnest directory, or uninstalling it using KIAUH. Whatever works. Then try to install crowsnest again. Let me know if that solves your problem 😊

Klipper + octoprint = ???
Use Kiauh to install Klipper, with it you will be able to install Octoprint as well. It's the easiest way to have all set up correctly.
- Flash Ender 5 to install Klipper
-
Webcam and mainsail/kipper or raspberry
If you don't remember what you did just start over rather than dissecting what your raspi currently runs. Thanks to kiauh installing the whole deal takes like an hour, where 45 min is waiting for the thing to think. One cam should work out of the box, for two or more you need crowsnest iirc, which you can also install through kiauh.

Should I be concerned?
I use this macro to do square the gantry against the top frame You should only do this if you have adjustable current for your stepper drivers ([tmcxxxx] sections in your config for stepper_z and stepper_z1 drivers) You'll also want to make sure your stepper_z.position_max is just before the gantry would contact the frame.

Z offset questions
I've added it into my LCD menu https://github.com/strayr/strayr-k-macros/blob/main/improved_menu.cfg, but beware, some of the menuitems pull in macros from other parts of the package. You may find the whole lot useful, read the docs. it needs some updating and perhaps the probe menu splitting into a standalone file.

Dual boards for same printer
I use u/strayr-k's macro for this: mechanical_level_tmc2209.cfg
-
Using bed leveling probe for bed tramming
I always use strayrr-k's mechanical gantry calibration macro to tram the gantry against the frame before using screws_tilt to level the bed.
-
pretty proud of this bed leveling job on my ender 3.i fully expected a bit of warp but I'm super happy with this.
Last note, the G34 macro I use is this one. Works really well on my dual Z setup (one driver for both steppers). I've noticed my Ender3 X gantry likes to set itself just a bit off-kilter when steppers are disabled, so I run a G34 at every startup to ensure it stays level as long as the motors are enabled.

Change to Stealthchop mid-print
you can try this https://github.com/strayr/strayr-k-macros/blob/main/M204.cfg but it can cause crashes if you have gcode with lots of accel changes, I encountered this on small mmu prints with lots of very short perimeters but it might be ok.
-
PID tuning macros
I use mech_gantry_cal.cfg a lot, but that only applies if you use dual z steppers and dual z drivers. This macro will bump the gantry against the z_max to straighten it against the frame and eliminate any drift between the drivers.
