Is there a beginners guide to kernel configuration?
Try out my kernelseeds tool. It can take a new config, or an existing kernel, enable as many features (as modules) as possible, and also scan your current system and convert those required features to builtin instead of modules.

I went ahead and pushed the latest version of kernelseeds to github since I have been using it for a while with no major issues. Please let me know if you try it out and find any problems.
