itemcollection VS fvtt-loot-sheet-npc-5e

For DND5e, there's a couple options. Item Containers and Inventory+. Both work on v9, neither have been updated for v10. I believe Item Containers will work on it, but Inventory+ won't. Inventory+ has a new repo for v10 that hasn't started work yet if you want to track that. (I do, it's the better option for me.)

Inventory+ and Item collections seem to be the only two choices currently available, and while both could be worked into a useable form, neither plays nice with the tidy5e sheets that I've come to know and love.

Item Collection

you can use the module Item Collection to create containers in your players sheet, it adds also configuration to the container item about how to handle its capacity, max weight, actual item weight (for bags of holding and such where the contained items weight zero) and so on.

This is what you are after - create all type of containers and bags. You can set the fixed weight and anything you put in it wont change the overall weight on your character. Its great. https://foundryvtt.com/packages/itemcollection

Thanks for pointing that one out. I think I'll keep an eye on it as it matures. Note this warning from the readme:

Loot Sheet NPC 5e was just updated to v9 today, you need to use the manifest link in the bottom of their Github README and not just update through Foundry, that seems to fail.

For the second issue - after a quick glimpse at the github for the module, a few people are submitting issues that splitting is not working. Seems like you are being hit by this bug especially hard as for most people it's jsut that - not working.

they are working on an update, should be ready in a few days, you can try the module item piles which has a slightly different approach and works in v9

This module is "the killer app" that really sold me on Foundry, but I've also had a lot of trouble with it working correctly for nearly a year, with different problems along the way. It would be more helpful if you could copy any error information from the console (press f12 on Chrome or Firefox). If that doesn't help, all you can really do is submit an issue on the github (https://github.com/jopeek/fvtt-loot-sheet-npc-5e) with as much information as possible (as it's possibly something unique to your setup) and hope that the dev updates it.
