Loot Sheet NPC 5e was just updated to v9 today, you need to use the manifest link in the bottom of their Github README and not just update through Foundry, that seems to fail.

Ran Foundry for a group for the first time. Experienced a couple of glitches/bugs
For the second issue - after a quick glimpse at the github for the module, a few people are submitting issues that splitting is not working. Seems like you are being hit by this bug especially hard as for most people it's jsut that - not working.

they are working on an update, should be ready in a few days, you can try the module item piles which has a slightly different approach and works in v9

Problem with Loot Sheet 5E Module
This module is "the killer app" that really sold me on Foundry, but I've also had a lot of trouble with it working correctly for nearly a year, with different problems along the way. It would be more helpful if you could copy any error information from the console (press f12 on Chrome or Firefox). But a better place to read about or report errors would be the module's github page https://github.com/jopeek/fvtt-loot-sheet-npc-5e/issues

Loot Sheet not removing coins when looted
If that doesn't help, all you can really do is submit an issue on the github (https://github.com/jopeek/fvtt-loot-sheet-npc-5e) with as much information as possible (as it's possibly something unique to your setup) and hope that the dev updates it.
