Re: Plotting, I don't have experience in python plotting beyond the odd 2d plot, but maybe plotly or ipyvolume would be useful for non-interactive visualization?

ipyvolume It allows for interactive 3d plots in jupyter notebook. It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.
