How do I get the old snapping menu back?

I'm not an Inkscape developer myself, but from what I have read on the official bug-tracker, the developers are keenly aware about the new snapping popover's drawbacks and the potential problems for advanced users (and were even before they released the latest version).
Any way to preview fonts on text on the page while scrolling through them?

inkscape actually had a proposal to align with GTK/GNOME's guidelines: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/ux/-/issues/24
So I may have found a way to add multiple page support, just need some help from devs to know if this is possible.

There are a lot of excellent mockups floating around. A lot of them date back to the time when most designers in the circle were still hanging around on DeviantArt. Indeed, elementary OS itself has its roots in that milieu. One particularly notable example is the presentation app, Spice-up, which implements this 2013 mockup.
