What do you guys think about an online chess tournament for this subreddir?
I think the chess.com interface is far better than lichess.org. But hey, you do you man.
Well then, lichess.org is the best lol. I ain't paying money for a tournament.

Why would anyone play on Chess.com? It's an ad-ridden, cluster#$%& of an eyesore to look at, especially compared to the clean look of Lichess. I just don't get it.
good thing lichess.org is one click or url type in away.

Is chess.com's premium worth it?
I've been playing chess at home with my family and such for some years now. We don't play much but I know how to play the game. For the past weeks, I've started to play some chess on chess.com, and I've been enjoying it. I love all the tools the web has: the puzzles and the analysis (game review) mainly. I also found lichess.org to practice my puzzles w/o limit. However, I couldn't find anything comparable to the analysis tool on chess.com for free. Is it really worth it to pay the full diamond plan only for that or are there any other tools out there that can do a similar job? Also, I've read the other advantages the premium version has over the "free" version, but I don't feel like they're so good (I mean, for puzzles I have lichess and I don't really see the point of the bots and the lessons). Am I missing something?
The reason "positive" moves aren't categorized as "good" or "excellent" is because it's a very vague concept (see the discussion here). The implementation on chess.com is quite frankly hot garbadge, as the analysis will sometimes assess a forced, only move as "Excellent".

Does anybody use Chessdb.cn?
Lichess even considered using Chessdb https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/5200.

TIL Lichess “CAPTCHA” is a mate in one puzzle. Loved it. Though I wonder isn’t it the easiest thing to automate 🤔
I think this is more straightforward here. For more “serious” things (signing up, 2-factor auth etc) there’s sometimes a “real” proper CAPTCHA. Lichess doesn’t like it since using external services means conforming to their TOS, which are sometimes diametrically opposed to the Lichess “no ads, no trackers” policy.
