KVM-Switch USB passthrough, no USB Devices
You could probably hack this together yourself though. For pure qemu, u/darkguy2008 at some point wrote hotplugger. For libvirt, however, you're probably better off hacking this together yourself using udev rules and an attach/detach script that gets fired based on them. This old comment of mine might help to get you started with that. Note, however, that I never had to deal with device paths for hubs; they might not be as stable as you like.

How to passtrough USB port instead of device using virt-manager?
Okay I've seen this before, but I'm unsure if it works. https://github.com/darkguy2008/hotplugger

is multiseat possible with proxmox?
I'd like to chime in with my Hotplugger project https://github.com/darkguy2008/hotplugger it might be helpful to assign a specific USB port inside the same controller to different VMs.

Windows Gaming Virtual Machine Tutorial: Poll
If it helps, and it helps you and others, make sure to link my project https://github.com/darkguy2008/hotplugger as it helps to do selective USB passthrough instead of passing through a full USB controller or buying an extra USB card. There are a couple bugs to iron out, but overall it works fine :) much appreciated!

Manjaro + Hackintosh + Windows Setup
I just came here to suggest that you can try my Hotplugger app, I made it specifically for sharing USB ports between VMs, dynamically depending on their on/off status. I figured it could help to solve some of your EVDEV problems :)

QEMU USB Redirection - How much overhead (cpu usage & latency) is there compared to when connecting to passthroughed PCIe USB controller?
Well, I made hotplugger ( https://github.com/darkguy2008/hotplugger ) as an app to configure USB port redirection per VM, and I used it with my Corsair Void Elite Pro wireless headset, a Logitech MX Master 2 USB receiver and a standard Redragon keyboard. I didn't experience any kind of latency in any of them compared to running them in bare metal.

Passthrough USB device on demand?
Hotplugger. I've never actually tried it yet, but it seems to do what you want.

Having weird problems with passing USB device
There is also something like this, though I haven’t tested it myself: https://github.com/darkguy2008/hotplugger

Is there any viable way to run arch arm on M1 mac?
If you want a DE like GNOME or KDE then use this qemu package, graphics run like butter IMO on my M1 MacBook Air (though only on Linux guests, not Windows) https://github.com/knazarov/homebrew-qemu-virgl

Quickemu: Quickly create and run optimised Win-10,11/macOS/Linux on Linux
I didn't use this, but a similar/related project that is for MacOS, https://github.com/knazarov/homebrew-qemu-virgl
Vagrant is an orthogonal tool to this, it is a VM orchestrator not an actual VM. What does this do: well, qemu doesn't have virgl support merged yet, so you need to go to some lengths to compile it for yourself.
All of the other stuff (spice, virtio) is for "it should be a nice user experience" above and beyond simply fast. In other words, you should be able to copy and paste between the host OS and the guest. You should be able to slide your mouse across the border of the VM window and do some clicking around then simply slide it back out and use your mouse with native host-OS windows again.
These things are all not granted when you use qemu out of the box. I have this intense 25-lines "qemu" script for invoking qemu-system properly. It was enlightening but I'm not sure how much I was enriched by the process of actually figuring all this out.
Quickemu is for making this easier (and on Linux.)

Curious about macOS performance without gpu pass
How about the build with VIRGL support here?
- How do you M1 users go about using Linux command line on your mac, is it even possible?

QEMU Virgl Mac host with Linux Mint guest - suspend and resume?
I recently discovered QEMU, switched from VirtualBox on my Mac (Intel, Big Sur), and have been loving the improved performance. Running Linux Mint is amazing, especially after knazarov's homebrew package of the 3D-accelerated QEMU-Virgl project.
What are some alternatives?
evsieve - A utility for mapping events from Linux event devices.
quickemu - Quickly create and run optimised Windows, macOS and Linux desktop virtual machines.
vfio-kvm - A systemd service that sends a D-Bus signal when the QEMU evdev hotkey is triggered.
