homebridge-unifi-occupancy-sensor VS EspruinoHub

Does anyone know whyunify occupancy sensor of GitHub has been archived? Is this no longer a viable solution?

On the same Pi as my homebridge, I’ve installed docker containers of an MQTT server and a node app called EspruinoHub. The node app scans all available BLE ids, and if the tile/air tag matches the Id set in the config, it publishes to your desired tree in mqtt. In homebridge, I have mqttthing installed listening to those tree nodes with the accessory set as a presence detector. Works well, if your pi is centrally located or near your main door.

I use a BLE tag and a service running on my raspberry pi called EspruinoHub. When the BLE tag is detected , it pushes a true or false to my Mqtt server also on my Pi. From there you can pull it as a occupancy sensor to any number of home applications (home assistant, homebridge etc). Works reliably and you can have multiple tags with custom names and multiple pi’s around the house if need be. I use it as home detection for my wife and I. Tile Pro for losing keys and as presence detection.
