Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Simulate your own spacecraft with Asynchronix, an async discrete-event simulator
There's another crate with an interesting API that looks kinda similar to this that uses the actors https://github.com/Thomasdezeeuw/heph

Simulate your own spacecraft with Asynchronix, an async discrete-event simulator
If you are looking for an example with similar complexity and real-time constraints as a cubesat, you could do worse than look at what the PWSat folks did (GitHub link). It's not introductory material, but I have been impressed to see such level of rigor being applied for cubesat development and validation.
What are some alternatives?
tachyonix - An asynchronous, multi-producer, single-consumer (MPSC) bounded channel that operates at tachyonic speeds
asynchronix - High-performance asynchronous computation framework for system simulation
raceintospace - This is the GitHub home of Race Into Space, the computer version of the Liftoff! board game by Fritz Bronner. It was developed by Strategic Visions and published by Interplay as a disk-based game in 1993 and a CD-ROM in 1994. It was open-sourced in 2005 and a number of improvements have been made over the original.
st3 - Very fast lock-free, bounded, work-stealing queues with FIFO stealing and LIFO or FIFO semantic for the worker thread.
goestools - 📡 LRIT demodulator from weather satellite GEO-KOMPSAT-2A (GK-2A).
ossim - Core OSSIM (Open Source Software Image Map) package including C++ code for OSSIM library, command-line applications, tests, and build system
