Issues with gogrepo
Hello, I just installed RetroNAS mainly because I wanted to use the gogrepo tool. While the installation all went well, the gogrepo tool is still having this issue, which I thought was fixed in a fork. When I launch the tool, I get the warning that says this is a known issue, but searching online, it seems like saurik made a fork of the gogrepo to address this specific issue. However, when I try to download the games, only the extras are being downloaded. Am I doing something wrong here?

No Man's Sky Offline Backup Installer broken on GOG. Please Fix!
I really wish that GOG would provide MD5 files to verify offline downloads. That has been on the wishlist for some time but never implemented. This Python script gogrepo is supposed to let you download and verify offline files including MD5 but I haven't used it. In the wishlist link there is also a user script for getting it.
- Does anyone worry they won't be able to play their games in the future?
- Can you still use the GOG downloader?
-
is storing the off-line installers a waste of hd space and time?
If you want to download all one thousand at once, gogrepo is your friend but I have no personal experience with it.

What the Linux community think about Valve ?
I just use gogrepo.py.

After a year of huge losses, the GOG digital store will return to its roots
What I have found that works best is using the gogrepo python script. It can run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS using Python. The script is pretty simple, you login once via command (documented on the github README) and then you can download your entire GOG library including extras and other platforms. All the files will be the offline installers that you get from the website.

How to save all your GOG games you bought?

GoG survey: Time to nag them about Linux support
Minigalaxy is great for native apps. Lutris is hit or miss for wine/DVXK.
-
This is goodbye, but is it forever?
E.g. Minigalaxy offers many of GoG Galaxys features (Tagging /u/anevilduck here in case he doesn't know it) and only has around 13500 lines of Code.

Valve has set the bar pretty high, but It'd be nice if anyone else at least did the bare minimum
The official client isn't, but there is a 3rd party one available for Linux https://github.com/sharkwouter/minigalaxy

Thinking of switching to linux
So long as you have a Vulkan capable GPU, you should be able to get almost all GOG games working. You could use Lutris with GOG Galaxy, Lutris with GOG offline installers or MiniGalaxy.
-
I'm thinking of changing over to Linux exclusively for a gaming exclusive set up. Is this sensible or should I remain on Windows?
HeroicGamesLauncher / MiniGalaxy: Launcher alternative for the EpicGamesLauncher / GoG.
- Minigalaxy version 1.2.2 released
-
Playnite 10 has been released. Open source video game library manager.
Besides there are other projects like https://github.com/sharkwouter/minigalaxy that has some of their coding from PlayNite and of their own to work on Linux and there are Tutorials like https://playnite.link/forum/thread-1156.html to make it work nonetheless. Also thanks to Steam's Proton layering, everything is easier at Linux gaming side.
What are some alternatives?
